Motorcoach Companies Helping Communities Devastated by Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene has left widespread destruction, impacting thousands of families and communities along the Atlantic Coast. Now, more than ever, our efforts can make a difference. Several motorcoach companies are stepping up to provide essential support, supplies, and aid to help these communities recover. Join us in this relief effort by donating or volunteering.

How You Can Help

You can get involved in the following ways:

  • Monetary Donations: Financial contributions go directly toward providing essentials like food, water, and shelter for those affected. You can donate directly to local relief organizations.
  • Supply Donations: Essential items like bottled water, canned goods, hygiene products, blankets, and first aid supplies are urgently needed. Find local drop-off points where you can bring these much-needed supplies.
  • Volunteer: Consider volunteering your time to help distribute supplies or assist with rebuilding efforts. Local organizations and motorcoach companies are organizing efforts to transport volunteers and supplies to the affected areas.

Trans-Bridge Lines Adds Four New J4500 Buses

Share

Trans-Bridge Lines has taken delivery of four new MCI J4500 buses. The buses join the Trans-Bridge fleet for a total of 32 motorcoaches.

Three buses will be integrated into the company’s New York City line run service. Each of the three white commuter buses, 481, 482, and 483, can comfortably accommodate up to 60 passengers and offers the bus industry’s largest interior floor and best-in-class legroom for a pleasant passenger experience.

The fourth silver motorcoach will be utilized for the company’s Charter Division. The bus, 422, seats 56 passengers and debuted during Musikfest 2024, transporting passengers to and from the popular music festival.

The buses’ Cummins X12 clean-diesel engines maximize every gallon by integrating fuel-efficient technologies. Per passenger, the coaches offer lower emissions than any current hybrid car. This is a great example of what makes buses the most environmentally friendly form of public transportation.

“Trans-Bridge Lines is thrilled to welcome these new buses as part of our ongoing commitment to renew our fleet,” said Vice President of Operations, Mark Ertel. “These buses allow us to continue providing the best possible service for our passengers, many of them loyal commuters.”

“It was great also to meet the manufacturer representatives from Motor Coach Industries,” stated Jerry Featherman, Fleet and Facilities Maintenance Manager. “We had the opportunity to ask questions about bus features, and their knowledgeable team was very responsive. We look forward to maintaining our longstanding relationship with the MCI team.”
