Name: Rickey B. Washington
Company: Motor Coach Travel 365 LLC
City, State: Baton Rouge, La.
Years in the Industry: 27 years

How did you first get involved in the industry?

I started out as a tour bus driver with a family company.  The company in 1995 asked me to head their newly created sales and marketing department. I was really excited about the opportunity, after long hours and a lot of hard work I was able to move the company into ecommerce. The next six years brought about tremendous growth opportunities.

Who has inspired your career?

My greatest inspiration came from my family and the Collier family.

What has been the greatest challenge/opportunity in your career?

The greatest challenge has been working the Super Bowl games that came to New Orleans.

What advice would you give to others about working in this industry?

The business climate when I enter the industry was great. We fast-forward to the COVID era and business opportunities are not there anymore. This business takes a lot of dedication and keeping up with industry trends and technology. The most important skill you need is excellent service to the traveling public.
