Canada/Mexico Tariffs Threaten U.S. Motorcoach Industry
A call to action for tariff exclusions to help our industries
The travel and tourism sectors are facing serious challenges. Motorcoaches imported from Canada are now subject to a 25% tariff, while engines, transmissions, and other U.S.-made parts could soon face retaliatory tariffs—putting our industry in a costly double-tariff bind.
These tariffs are already having an impact. Group tours are canceling trips to the U.S., worsening the travel deficit just as inbound travel was improving. Bus operators and manufacturers, who saw a 20% increase in sales in 2024, now face stalled progress.
Despite these challenges, now is the time for the group travel industry to come together and make our voices heard.
The American Bus Association and our allied associations are actively advocating for you.

- Urging Congress to take action in support of our industry.
