Boston Duck Tours Celebrates 30 Years of Fun and Community Impact
Boston Duck Tours, one of Boston’s most beloved and iconic attractions, is celebrating its 30th anniversary on October 4, 2024. To mark this special occasion, the company is currently offering a limited-time promotion and a unique opportunity for team members to give back to their communities. From September 30 to October 4, guests can purchase tickets for only $30 using promo code 30YEARS on the Boston Duck Tours website, making this milestone an exciting time for locals and visitors alike.
Boston Duck Tours has grown exponentially since its humble beginnings in 1994, when it operated just four amphibious vehicles, or “Ducks,” and employed 15 team members. Today, the company boasts a fleet of 28 Ducks and 200 employees, carrying up to 4,600 guests on peak days during the season. Cindy Brown, CEO and one of the original employees, expressed her pride in the company’s growth and its commitment to the Boston community.
“It has been a career thrill to be a part of the growth and success of Boston Duck Tours,” said Brown. “When we started in 1994, nobody imagined that we would grow to become the company we are today, carrying over half a million guests each season, supporting community organizations, and donating over $1 million.”
As part of its 30th-anniversary celebration, Boston Duck Tours is launching the “Quack Quack YOU Give Back” initiative, allowing employees to give back to causes that matter most to them. Every employee will receive $150 (in the form of 30 $5 bills) to donate or pay forward in any way they choose. Team members have already contributed to organizations like Challenge Accepted, the Boston Fire Department Relief Fund, and the Fort Rodman Historical Association, demonstrating the company’s deep commitment to supporting local causes.
Boston Duck Tours has long been involved in charitable efforts, particularly focusing on clean water, education, and veterans. The company supports numerous organizations, including the Charles River Watershed Association, NEADS Service Dogs for Veterans, and Revolutionary Spaces. In addition, thousands of tickets are donated annually to youth groups, senior citizens, and nonprofit organizations, with free tours offered to veterans and active-duty military personnel during Veterans Day week.
The colorful Ducks have been an iconic part of Boston’s landscape for the past three decades, participating in victory parades and assisting in water rescues. As the company celebrates 30 years, it continues to provide memorable experiences for guests while giving back to the community that has supported it for so long.
