Motorcoach Companies Helping Communities Devastated by Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene has left widespread destruction, impacting thousands of families and communities along the Atlantic Coast. Now, more than ever, our efforts can make a difference. Several motorcoach companies are stepping up to provide essential support, supplies, and aid to help these communities recover. Join us in this relief effort by donating or volunteering.

How You Can Help

You can get involved in the following ways:

  • Monetary Donations: Financial contributions go directly toward providing essentials like food, water, and shelter for those affected. You can donate directly to local relief organizations.
  • Supply Donations: Essential items like bottled water, canned goods, hygiene products, blankets, and first aid supplies are urgently needed. Find local drop-off points where you can bring these much-needed supplies.
  • Volunteer: Consider volunteering your time to help distribute supplies or assist with rebuilding efforts. Local organizations and motorcoach companies are organizing efforts to transport volunteers and supplies to the affected areas.

Women in Buses goes purple for March! International Women’s Day is March 8 and ABA's Women in Buses Council is proud to celebrate gender equality all month long. Women in Buses joins the global celebration of women’s achievements, advancements and continued progress towards equality. Industry supporters are invited to join Women in Buses as it hosts a variety of industry events with Webinar Wednesday’s, International Women’s Day series and monthly Meet and Eat, celebrating women’s leadership and accomplishments throughout travel, tourism and the motorcoach industries.

Inspired by previous Women in Buses guests sharing their own organization's International Women’s Day celebration and events, the Women In Buses leadership created the International Women’s Day series as part of the spring WIB education series. These events will including fireside chat-style interviews with female executives of the travel industry including airline, cruise line, hotel and motorcoach industries. Interviews will include female industry leaders' success stories, ongoing opportunities for the next generation and advice on the industry going forward.

Mark your calendar for these events:

March 9 – Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity Cruiselines President/CEO

March 10 – Diana Birkett Rakow, Vice President Public Affairs and Sustainability, Alaska Airlines

Register here.

We invite all Women in Buses supporters, members and industry friends to be part of the celebration. Women in Buses also challenges industry leaders and members to share these exciting events with the next generation. Events are open to anyone who supports the mission of Women in Buses.

As part of the month long celebration, Women in Buses will also share the stories and faces of our own Women in Buses members through social media and webinars. Send us your photos of individuals, teams and drivers making an impact to your business!  Together, as an industry, let’s celebrate, create awareness and energize the next generation of travel, tourism and transportation opportunities.
