A special thank you to the tour and motorcoach operators who weighed in on how ABA has helped them maneuver in the industry as it has evolved throughout the years.

The Alaska State Fair celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2026. The 18-day event (Aug. 21–Sept. 7) features a variety of vendors, entertainment, animals, and food that showcase Alaska’s uniqueness.
“In The Mat-Su, Alaska, groups have several memorable experiences to choose from. In August, the Alaska State Fair in Palmer features world-record vegetables grown under the midnight sun, and in 2026, the fair celebrates its 90th anniversary. “With the opening of The Mat-Su’s brand-new Gateway Visitor Center in the spring of 2026, visitors will have even greater access to local knowledge and one-on-one guidance to find the perfect adventures for their Alaska vacation. Visitors can also learn about popular local events like the Alaska State Fair or the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. The Gateway Visitor Center will spotlight all The Mat-Su’s beloved communities, including Talkeetna, Palmer, Glacier View, and Willow. Idaho
Salt Lake Express
Idaho’s charter bus company connects the Gem State
Salt Lake Express proudly served as one of the transportation providers at ABA’s Marketplace in Reno, Nev., in January.
“ABA has played a pivotal role in advancing our intercity bus industry over the past several years through advocacy, research, and security initiatives,” says Jacob Price, owner of Salt Lake Express. “These efforts reflect ABA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the resilience, safety, and competitiveness of the North American intercity bus industry and are vital to our success.”
Salt Lake Express has come a long way since its beginnings in 1994 when Tom Price and his wife started the business by purchasing a bus for their large and growing family. Today, their son Jacob Price oversees a fleet of 117 vehicles, prioritizing safety, reliability, and employee well-being while fostering a positive work environment.
In addition to its fixed route intercity service, Salt Lake Express Charter dispatches out of Rexburg; Idaho Falls; Pocatello; Boise; Salt Lake City; St. George, Utah; Las Vegas; Spokane, Wash.; Seattle; and Denver.
“Over the years, our membership in the American Bus Association has been far more than an affiliation—it has been a source of guidance, partnership, and advocacy. As the ABA marks 100 years of advancing the motorcoach and group travel industry, its century of leadership continues to shape our commitment to safety, accountability, and professional excellence. We are proud to stand alongside the ABA as it celebrates this historic milestone, carrying those shared standards forward across Idaho and throughout the West.”
—Jacob Price, Owner, Salt Lake Express
Idaho is uniquely expansive. From the business energy of Boise to the lakeside calm of McCall; from the regional hub of Idaho Falls to the mountain elegance of Sun Valley; and from the university-driven community of Moscow in northern Idaho to the wide-open adventure of Island Park, travel in the Gem State often means long highways, mountain passes, regional airports, and rapidly changing weather.
What makes all of it accessible is connection.
That connection is where Salt Lake Express plays a defining role. Through charter services and scheduled daily shuttles, Salt Lake Express supports both large-scale group travel and individual mobility across Idaho.
For group travel, Salt Lake Express Charter Services operates as a direct service provider, overseeing its fleet and logistics from departure to arrival. Corporate gatherings, collegiate athletics, seasonal travel, and trips to Jackson Hole or Yellowstone National Park rely on precise coordination and efficient routing. Our charter service keeps groups together, streamlines airport connections, and protects the schedules events depend on.
Equally vital is the scheduled shuttle network, which provides safe, efficient, and economical daily transportation between Idaho’s primary cities and regional airport hubs. For business travelers, students, residents, and visitors, predictable service transforming what might be a demanding journey into a managed, comfortable transition between destinations. Rather than navigating alone, passengers travel with ease—connected not just to cities, but to resort communities and iconic gateways beyond state lines.
In a state defined by distance, seamless transportation isn’t a luxury; it’s what makes the journey possible. Salt Lake Express is more than a transportation provider—it is a trusted regional partner, keeping Idaho connected efficiently and economically.
