Motorcoach Companies Helping Communities Devastated by Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene has left widespread destruction, impacting thousands of families and communities along the Atlantic Coast. Now, more than ever, our efforts can make a difference. Several motorcoach companies are stepping up to provide essential support, supplies, and aid to help these communities recover. Join us in this relief effort by donating or volunteering.

How You Can Help

You can get involved in the following ways:

  • Monetary Donations: Financial contributions go directly toward providing essentials like food, water, and shelter for those affected. You can donate directly to local relief organizations.
  • Supply Donations: Essential items like bottled water, canned goods, hygiene products, blankets, and first aid supplies are urgently needed. Find local drop-off points where you can bring these much-needed supplies.
  • Volunteer: Consider volunteering your time to help distribute supplies or assist with rebuilding efforts. Local organizations and motorcoach companies are organizing efforts to transport volunteers and supplies to the affected areas.

The ABA and ABA Foundation Welcome New Board Members

During ABA’s Marketplace and Busworld North America in Detroit, the membership elected new Chad Cushman, president of Indian Trails, Inc. in Owosso, Mich., to join the ABA Board of Directors. The ABA Board also honored outgoing Board members Tom McCaughey, president of Flagship Trailways in Cranston, R.I., and Michelle Wiltgen, retired from National Interstate Insurance Company, for their years of service to the ABA membership. 

The ABA Foundation Board of Governors also added three new members: Mary Courie, national sales with Hard Rock Cafe International in Davie, Fla.; Greg Dotson, Group Sales manager of the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando, Fla.; and Brent Maitland, Private Sector Sales and Marketing vice president for Motor Coach Industries in Des Plaines, Ill. 

During Marketplace and Busworld North America, ABA President & CEO Peter Pantuso recognized retiring ABA Foundation Board of Governors member Pat Ziska of Motor Coach Industries for her years of service to the industry and the association, especially the Foundation. 

Commenting on the additions to the ABA Board of Directors and ABA Foundation Board of Governors, Pantuso said “It is our volunteer leaders that make ABA and the ABA Foundation what we are today. Their dedication to ensuring we provide our members the resources, research, scholarships and programming they need to succeed in this industry is priceless. We are so fortunate to our Board of Directors and Board of Governors and I look forward to working with our new members.”
