Peter Pan Bus Lines Driver Tony Wilson Named 2025 ABA Motorcoach Driver of the Year
Recognizing driver for exceptional service, mentorship, and 2 million accident-free miles

The American Bus Association (ABA) has named Tony Wilson, a veteran driver with Peter Pan Bus Lines, the 2025 Motorcoach Driver of the Year. Wilson, based in Secaucus, NJ, was selected from a highly competitive pool of nominees nationwide for his exceptional driving skills, commitment to safety, and customer service.

Wilson, who has amassed an impressive 2 million accident-free miles over 25 years of driving, becomes only the sixth recipient of this prestigious award. Numerous accolades mark his career, including Peter Pan Bus Lines safe driving awards and the Peter Pan Extra Mile Customer Care Award. In addition to his exemplary safety record, Wilson plays a crucial role as a mentor and driver-trainer, helping shape the next generation of motorcoach operators.
“We are thrilled to see Tony Wilson honored with the ABA 2025 Driver of the Year award. Tony is an exceptional driver trainer and a true role model whose talent, hard work, and professionalism set him apart in this industry,” said Peter Picknelly, Chairman & CEO of Peter Pan Bus Lines. “His dedication and skill make him truly deserving of this recognition. We are incredibly proud to have another ABA Driver of the Year on our team at Peter Pan. Congratulations to Tony on this well-deserved honor.”
The award was announced during the Bus Industry Safety Council’s Winter Meeting with the ABA Marketplace in Philadelphia, PA—North America’s largest annual gathering of motorcoach operators. Sponsored by Motor Coach Industries (MCI), the award recognizes drivers who go above and beyond in service to their company, fellow drivers, and passengers.
Tony’s positive attitude, personal touch, and outstanding professionalism extend beyond his driving achievements to his role as a mentor for new drivers embarking on their careers at Peter Pan Bus Lines. Actively engaged in the driver training program, Tony goes above and beyond to impart invaluable knowledge and skills to the next generation of motorcoach operators, truly teaching the tricks of the road. His expertise surpasses the miles traveled on the road, establishing him as a reliable resource for new drivers seeking guidance, further development of their skills, and familiarization with new areas.
“It is with immense pride that we congratulate Tony Wilson for his selection as the Motorcoach Driver of the Year, recognizing his exceptional dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to safety and customer service. Tony exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding over-the-road motorcoach driver, consistently going beyond to provide passengers with the safest and most enjoyable travel experience possible,” said Chris Crean, Vice President of Safety & Security. “His commitment to safety extends to the next generation, educating new drivers on roadway safety, advanced safety technologies, and operational protocols. Tony trains (and re-educates) over 40 drivers annually, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and excellence in every trainee.”
Wilson’s honor underscores motorcoach drivers’ critical role in providing safe and reliable transportation for millions of passengers each year. The ABA, representing over 800 motorcoach and tour operators across the U.S. and Canada, continues to support the industry through initiatives like the Driving Force program, created by the Women in Buses Council, to address the nationwide driver shortage and provide resources for driver recruitment and retention.
