News from the Women in Buses Council – June 2024
WIB ON THE ROAD – OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY
Last week marked the first anniversary of our inaugural On the Road program and my how we celebrated!
Dozens of WIB members (and future members) converged at the Pennsylvania Bus Association’s annual conference and a great time was had by all. Special thanks to Peter Pantuso, PBA’s President Pattie Cowley, and MCI’s three reps (our sponsor) for their attendance and support.
The next scheduled On the Road will be at SYTA’s Conference in New York:
Saturday, August 10 at 5:30 pm (between the last education session and the Youth Foundation Soiree)
Library Bar, inside the Sheraton
Cash bar
Reminder – bring yourself, a buddy, and your business cards.
Going to other travel conferences? Let us know and we can help plan other OTR networking meetups.

THE WIB BOOK CLUB RESUMES
Remarkably Bright Creatures
by: Shelby Van Pelt
Remarkably Bright Creatures is a book about getting un-stuck. Finding the courage to change course, to rewrite one’s own story, even if that story is nearing its end. To nurture the friendship or connection that appears when you least expect it.
The book is full of hope and possibility, and it is a reminder that it is possible to find love and acceptance, even in the most unexpected places. Are you interested in joining ”The Club” – please SIGN UP HERE on or before July 10. We’re going to begin reading by July 15. Three to four discussions via Zoom will be scheduled with interested participants.
And while we’re talking books…
This Month’s Poll: Summer Reading
Whether for business or the beach, we want to know what turns your pages.
What should we add to our Goodreads lists? Submit your answers.
Last month we asked you for some good advice. Here’s what some of you said:
- Always ask.
- Connect and build relationships; the business will come.
- Have fun. It’s a long life if you don’t like what you’re doing.
