Motorcoach Leaders Make Their Voices Heard at First-Ever PBA Lobby Day

On June 3, 2025, the Pennsylvania Bus Association (PBA) held its inaugural Lobby Day at the state Capitol in Harrisburg, marking a significant step in advocating for the motorcoach and group travel industry. The event commenced with a Meet & Greet Breakfast, allowing PBA members to engage informally with legislators. Attendees were provided with comprehensive toolkits containing breakfast invitations, talking points, meeting schedules, leadership bios, and the 2025 Legislative Priorities document.
Throughout the day, PBA members, in collaboration with One+ Strategies, the association’s lobbying firm, conducted over 22 meetings with House and Senate leaders and local representatives. The discussions focused on the industry’s economic contributions, safety standards, and the challenges small businesses and family-owned operators face.
PBA Executive Director Patricia Cowley emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “Lawmakers need to hear firsthand how state decisions impact small businesses, family-owned operators, and the thousands of Pennsylvanians we employ.” Tammy Wolf-Baker, Chairwoman of the Board and representative of Wolf’s Bus Lines, added, “Lobby Day gave us the chance to share our story beyond statistics — to talk about the economic impact we generate and the safety-first culture we uphold.”
Industry leaders actively participated in the event. “Our industry often flies under the radar, but we move millions of people each year — safely, efficiently, and sustainably,” said John Bailey of Bailey Coach, immediate Past Chairman of the PBA. “It felt empowering to be part of something bigger than ourselves.”
The successful execution of the inaugural Lobby Day underscores the PBA’s commitment to elevating the profile of the motorcoach industry and ensuring that policymakers recognize its vital role in Pennsylvania’s economy and transportation infrastructure.
