Peter Pantuso, executive director of the ABA, said payroll support and low-interest loans are no help for bus companies such as Trans-Bridge. With few customers to transport, companies can’t turn a profit between the costs of fuel, insurance, leasing garage space, maintaining their fleet and paying off equipment, even if there’s help with payroll. “Congress seemed to be completely tone-deaf to the plight and peril of the motorcoach companies. They completely missed the bus and left us out for designated funding,” Pantuso said.
