Help ABA Address the Surge in NYC Idling Summons – Share Your Experience

New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) has dramatically increased the number of idling summonses issued, rising from 10,000 in 2023 to over 100,000 in 2024. Many of these citations stem from the Citizens Complaint Program, which allows individuals to report vehicles idling for extended periods.
The American Bus Association (ABA) is actively collaborating with industry partners, including BUS4NYC and the Bus Association of New York (BANY), to address this issue and advocate for fair policies at the city and state levels. We need your input to better represent our members’ concerns.
If your company has been affected by these summonses, please take a few minutes to complete our brief survey. Your responses will help us understand the extent of the problem and strengthen our advocacy efforts with authorities in New York City and New York State.
