ABA Vice Chair Mike Canine Participates in Congressman Emmer’s Small Business Roundtable

The American Bus Association proudly recognizes Mike Canine, Vice Chair of the ABA Board of Directors and Chair of the ABA Policy Committee, for participating in U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer’s Small Business Roundtable during National Small Business Week in Washington, D.C. Emmer, R-Minn., represents Minnesota’s 6th District.

As the CEO of Lorenz Bus Service in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Canine brings firsthand experience of the challenges faced by small business owners in the motorcoach and group travel industry. His leadership roles within the ABA underscore his commitment to advancing the industry’s interests at both the state and national levels. 

“Running a successful small business means navigating a thousand challenges every day—from managing operations to adapting to complex regulations. That’s why having the right partners in government is essential,” says Canine. “Congressman Emmer understands what it takes to keep small businesses like mine moving forward. He’s been a steadfast champion for entrepreneurs and a vocal advocate for the motorcoach industry. I’m proud to participate in his Small Business Roundtable to help align our shared commitment to business success.”

Congressman Emmer has consistently demonstrated support for small businesses, including the motorcoach industry, recognizing its vital role in the nation’s economy and transportation infrastructure. His advocacy has been instrumental in addressing the unique challenges faced by this sector, especially in the wake of recent economic disruptions. 

The motorcoach and group travel industry, a $100 billion sector, plays a crucial role in connecting communities, supporting tourism and providing efficient transportation options. Canine’s involvement in the roundtable not only highlights the industry’s significance but also reinforces the ABA’s ongoing efforts to engage policymakers in meaningful dialogue.
