DATTCO Expands Regional Reach with Acquisition of Land/Jet
The move strengthens service in western Connecticut and New York while continuing a family-owned transportation legacy
DATTCO is expanding its reach in the Northeast through the acquisition of Land/Jet, a longtime transportation company based in Watertown, Connecticut. The move strengthens DATTCO’s presence in western Connecticut and New York while continuing a regional legacy built on safe, reliable, community-focused service.
The acquisition brings Land/Jet’s operations into the DATTCO network and includes a commitment to retain current employees while creating additional opportunities as the business grows. DATTCO will also modernize the fleet, replacing half of Land/Jet’s 10 buses with newer vehicles from its own fleet to improve safety, comfort, and reliability.
“We’re excited to welcome Land/Jet into the DATTCO family,” said Don DeVivo, President of DATTCO, Inc. “This expansion is an investment in people allowing us to expand our operations, create good-paying local jobs, and deliver the dependable service that has defined DATTCO for over a century.”
DATTCO said the acquisition is designed to build on Land/Jet’s established reputation in the market, not replace it. Kyle DeVivo, Chief Operating Officer of DATTCO, said the company is pleased to welcome a team with strong experience and deep local relationships. The Brady brothers will remain involved during the transition, and Tim Brady will join DATTCO as a foreman to support operations at the new location.
The deal also marks an important moment for the Brady family, which has led Land/Jet for 43 years. According to the company’s release, the family’s broader legacy in the bus industry stretches back roughly 90 years and spans three generations, with roots tracing to the Flying Eagle operation in Danbury, Connecticut.
“We are confident that DATTCO is the right partner to carry forward the values and service standards that have defined Land Jet for generations,” said Charlie Brady, President of Land/Jet.
Founded in 1924 and headquartered in New Britain, Connecticut, DATTCO is one of the largest privately owned transportation companies in New England, providing motorcoach, school bus, and transit services across the region.
For ABA members, the acquisition reflects a familiar and encouraging story: growth through investment, continuity, and a shared commitment to service.
