Explore the treasure of the Old West on a walking tour of downtown Cody, Wyo., which was founded in 1896 by Colonel William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Cody Nite Rodeo runs every night from June 1 through Aug. 31 and features saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, tie down roping, team roping, barrel racing, and breakaway roping.

The Smithsonian Affiliate Buffalo Bill Center of the West features five museums under one roof: Draper Natural History Museum, Buffalo Bill Museum, Plains Indian Museum, Cody Firearms Museum, and Whitney Western Art Museum.
