California Bus Operators: We Need Your Help!
Force CARB to Notice Our Industry is Environmentally Friendly
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is looking to ram through additional changes to its already overbearing regulation related to engine emissions. This CARB regulation is more stringent than the EPA’s new Heavy Duty Engine Standards. CARB’s final regulation could potentially lead to no new bus sales in the state of California, or other states that adopt their regulations, until 2027 at the earliest.
Luckily, because CARB is taking this action it provides us a second chance to weigh in on these emission rules. We think one of the best ways we as an industry can make a difference is by requesting a public hearing to get all of the issues with these rules and impacts to our industry out on the table and in the open.
CARB will conduct a public hearing if enough of us request one. Any interested person must request a public hearing by Sept. 3.
The request for a hearing may be submitted in the same manner as written comments
