Motorcoach Companies Helping Communities Devastated by Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene has left widespread destruction, impacting thousands of families and communities along the Atlantic Coast. Now, more than ever, our efforts can make a difference. Several motorcoach companies are stepping up to provide essential support, supplies, and aid to help these communities recover. Join us in this relief effort by donating or volunteering.

How You Can Help

You can get involved in the following ways:

  • Monetary Donations: Financial contributions go directly toward providing essentials like food, water, and shelter for those affected. You can donate directly to local relief organizations.
  • Supply Donations: Essential items like bottled water, canned goods, hygiene products, blankets, and first aid supplies are urgently needed. Find local drop-off points where you can bring these much-needed supplies.
  • Volunteer: Consider volunteering your time to help distribute supplies or assist with rebuilding efforts. Local organizations and motorcoach companies are organizing efforts to transport volunteers and supplies to the affected areas.

Share

The American Bus Association (ABA), the leading voice in North America’s motorcoach, charter bus, group travel, and tourism industries, is proud to announce that its President and CEO, Fred Ferguson, will be attending the Loudoun County Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) training seminar in Middleburg, Virginia. Hosted by Visit Loudoun, the seminar will be held on November 6, 2024, providing essential training to enhance Middleburg’s hospitality and visitor engagement.

This CTA training will equip local businesses and participating employees with the knowledge and skills to effectively attract and serve visitors and strengthen Middleburg’s local economy. The program aligns with ABA’s mission to connect people with more places through travel and tourism.

Visit Loudoun is the destination marketing organization (DMO) for Loudoun County and its incorporated towns. The organization is charged with developing and implementing a comprehensive destination marketing program designed to attract visitors to the region and generate economic and employment taxes for the region. Visit Loudoun also works with the industry to implement a county-wide tourism destination development strategy.

“We are proud to support Visit Loudoun and participate in the Middleburg CTA seminar,” said Ferguson. “Through the CTA training, Visit Loudoun is bringing together businesses and marketing leaders to help train and equip the local business community to attract more visitors and grow the economy. CTA trainings and other seminars are invaluable tools for DMOs looking to elevate their communities and foster a welcoming environment that encourages repeat tourism.”

Ferguson’s commitment to Middleburg is personal and professional. His wife, Nicole, owns and operates a specialty gift shop in the city’s heart, one of many businesses that will benefit from expanded regional tourism.

The internationally renowned Certified Tourism Ambassador program is an industry-recognized certification that drives visitor spending through in-depth knowledge of the tourism ‘product,’ gives destinations a competitive advantage, and strategically aligns stakeholders with delivering a positive brand experience.
