Motorcoach Companies Helping Communities Devastated by Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene has left widespread destruction, impacting thousands of families and communities along the Atlantic Coast. Now, more than ever, our efforts can make a difference. Several motorcoach companies are stepping up to provide essential support, supplies, and aid to help these communities recover. Join us in this relief effort by donating or volunteering.

How You Can Help

You can get involved in the following ways:

  • Monetary Donations: Financial contributions go directly toward providing essentials like food, water, and shelter for those affected. You can donate directly to local relief organizations.
  • Supply Donations: Essential items like bottled water, canned goods, hygiene products, blankets, and first aid supplies are urgently needed. Find local drop-off points where you can bring these much-needed supplies.
  • Volunteer: Consider volunteering your time to help distribute supplies or assist with rebuilding efforts. Local organizations and motorcoach companies are organizing efforts to transport volunteers and supplies to the affected areas.

ABA Supports Bipartisan Work on Infrastructure Bill

Share

Washington, DC – In a letter to President Joe Biden, the American Bus Association (ABA) – the industry leader advancing North American motorcoach travel and tourism – threw its support to the bipartisan efforts underway to reach an infrastructure deal. We believe any path forward to move much needed legislation requires bipartisan efforts, and we applaud the progress the bipartisan group of Senators is making toward this goal.

“ABA thanks all of the Senators involved in this effort led by Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), and including Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Joe Manchin III (D-W.Va.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), Jon Tester (D-Mont.), and Mark R. Warner (D-Va.),” said Peter Pantuso, ABA president & CEO. “We are happy to see partisan politics set aside for the good of the country as we begin the long process of improving our highway and transportation system. Our nation’s private motorcoaches need safe roads and bridges to travel on as we carry the most precious cargo across America by the safest, most equitable, affordable, greenest mode of transportation available.”

The ABA, and its thousands of members nationwide, stand ready to help Congress and the Biden Administration come together to pass a desperately needed infrastructure package that will help the motorcoach, tour and travel industries. As part of the group travel industry, motorcoach travel has a $15 billion impact on the nation’s economy and supports 100,000 jobs. While the motorcoach industry has been devastated as a result of COVID-19, a robust infrastructure plan that restores confidence to the traveling public, reduces congestion and enhances safety, is essential to our long-term recovery.
