Leadership Evolves: Maitland Named AAAHI CEO, Wagner Promoted at MCI

Two respected leaders in the motorcoach industry are celebrating exciting career advancements. Brent Maitland has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of All Aboard America Holdings, Inc. (AAAHI). At the same time, Tom Wagner has been promoted to Vice President of Private Sector Sales and Service at Motor Coach Industries (MCI).
Brent Maitland’s move to CEO of AAAHI marks a significant milestone in a distinguished career. Maitland, who spent nearly 25 years at MCI, most recently served as Vice President of Private Sector Sales and Marketing. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in strengthening MCI’s position as a leader in motorcoach transportation, driving key innovations, building customer relationships, and mentoring the next generation of industry professionals.
At AAAHI, Maitland will oversee a growing family of regional passenger transportation companies, including All Aboard America!, Ace Express Coaches, and Sun Diego Charter. AAAHI is part of the global Kelsian Group, a major international provider of passenger transport and tourism services. Maitland’s appointment is an opportunity to continue AAAHI’s expansion while enhancing operational excellence across its regional brands.
“Throughout my career, I’ve built trusted relationships with the AAAHI operating companies, who are respected for their leadership, customer excellence, and safety cultures,” says Maitland. “These strong regional brands are under excellent stewardship with the AAAHI team, whom I’ve worked with as both a customer and industry colleague. I look forward to strengthening support while empowering our local operations to continue delivering exceptional service.”

As Maitland steps into his new role, MCI announced the promotion of Tom Wagner to Vice President of Private Sector Sales and Service. Wagner, who previously served as Director of Private Sector Sales, brings deep expertise and a proven record of success to his new leadership position. He will now oversee all private-sector commercial operations for MCI, including sales, field service, marketing, and service centers.
Wagner’s promotion is part of MCI’s broader “Project Focus” initiative, launched by parent company NFI Group Inc., to strengthen MCI’s operations, improve quality, and enhance the customer experience. The restructuring reestablishes MCI as a distinct business unit under the direct leadership of NFI President and CEO Paul Soubry.
“Tom’s leadership capabilities and deep understanding of our products, business, and customers make him the ideal successor to build on the foundation Brent established,” said Soubry. “Project Focus is about providing MCI with the dedicated leadership and resources needed to excel, and this leadership transition represents another important step forward.”
The leadership changes reflect both companies’ commitment to investing in talent, strengthening operations, and delivering value to customers. As the industry continues to evolve, experienced leaders like Maitland and Wagner will help drive innovation, resilience, and growth across the North American motorcoach landscape.
